Weekly Quote

"You will experience great joy in life as you eradicate adult-onset pessimism and substitute childlike optimism."
-Elder Perkins

Here is to a new year of being more optimistic and more like my amazing children. They teach me everyday about how to be better.

It's Going To Be A Good Life...

It's official.

We are moving to Tennessee!! Matt received a job from Pepsi and we are headed out there as soon as we can find housing.

We've been waiting so long for this.

But I knew it would happen for us, it would just come at the very end. But it's good that it did bc I'm now healed from my c section and am getting the hang of this two parent thing.

Elder Christofferson shared a story about how Hugh B brown viewed adversity and trials and I think it really applies here. He talks about how a current bush grew tall and took over more space than it was suppose it and when the gardener cut it and formed it the bush was upset. He asked why he had cut him down when he had grown so big and strong. The Gardner answered because I'm the gardener and I know what I want you to be.

Being cut down in life is hard. Especially when you are OCD and think you know what you want.

It's hard to understand why you have to struggle for so long but after all those doors of opportunity shut, a window finally opens.

And that window leads somewhere so much better than originally planned.

Our Shacks...

A shack: is a type of small house, usually in a state of disrepair.

...

Our life is about to change.

Since Matt and I were married at a young age we have lived in "wonderful" places. Sometimes I wonder why we choose to live where we did. A former cow shed, turned into a "house" by Matt's aunt, a crumy sketchy apartment complex where our door was two sheets of fake wood, a basement apartment with a family above us whose child threw a hammer through our window. Yes, we've lived the good life.

But that is about to change.

We have been waiting forever for this change. We thought we almost had it when Matt and I graduated from BYU. We had an offer from 3M made to us and it was more than we could of hoped for. We were so excited because we were about to have Joshua and 3M would pay for Matt's graduate degree! Everything looked great for about 5 hours. Then, they resindicated the offer...they had to make massive lay-offs and were just informed hours after hiring MAtt. Lame. Super Lame. Needless to say, since then when something cruel and usual happens I refer to it as being 3M mean.

But our drama and trauma with 3M brought us to Logan. Granted we lived in student housing but it was great. I loved being in a community type setting and loved having people around who were in the same position as us. I made some great friends and had some incredible times. I liked it here because of the people. I won't name names but you know who you are! BAsically thanks for making Aggie Village bearable!

For Matt

Matt flew out for a job interview on father's day. Incredibly lame but we hope and pray that something good will come of his many trips. This is mainly for a journal purpose only so don't read if you don't want to read lovey mushy stutt.

Matt is the best. He's the best husband. The best father. My best friend.

I know him so well that I can and often due 'read' his mind and understand some of his random rambling phrases.

He is the best.

I've never wanted for anything.

He spoils me like crazy.

He is so forgiving.

So kind.

And he works so hard.

Matt I love you! These five years have been crazy and hard but look how strong we are together now.

Happy Father's Day!

Thinking Of You

There are times when I Think about you little nephew.

When I look at Joshua and wish that he had another boy to play with. One who might keep up with him.

I remember holding you and having the realization that I would probably never hold you again in this life.

It broke my heart then and still brakes my heart now.

....

We blessed Samuel on June 5th. It was great and everything went smoothly! Samuel slept and Josh held still for a few moments while matt blessed Samuel. I cried and was so thankful for my boys!

But at the same time, seeing all my family, I had a moment.

A moment that happens regularly.

When I realize someone is missing.

I cried for you because I missed you!

I'm so glad families can be together forever. I'm so glad that no matter what happens in this life I will be with my family.

It helps heal those sad moments because let's face it, it still hurts today as much as it did then.

Catching up

In may we celebrated matt's birthday. He got lots of needed clothes and a cold stone cake. Which made me realize again how good food tastes. After being pregnant and sick for so long you forget that food can taste exceptional!

Then we visited my grandpa for memorial day. We also saw the progress of the brigham city temple. I love temples! Someday I will visit all of them in Utah.

Then later that month we went down for a family baptism. We had so much fun! Joshua loves his cousins and thinks he's a big kid. He dragged his cousin Devin around until Devin was too Tired. Keep in mind devin is like 10. Yes, my two year old out played a 10 year old. Josh never stops running or playing. He run extremely fast and we can't wait until he can start playing sports...mainly soccer. Joshua will be fabulous!

Life is good. Busy but good. Matt finished school forever. Now he's flying everywhere and interviewing in hopes that one job will come by. So cross your fingers for us! Good luck matt. I'm so proud of all you do!
