Weekly Quote

"You will experience great joy in life as you eradicate adult-onset pessimism and substitute childlike optimism."

Here is to a new year of being more optimistic and more like my amazing children. They teach me everyday about how to be better.

Catching Up

We celebrated Matt's birthday this month. We had a blast during his special day. We were able to snag a babysitter and go to the temple and then go eat at very fun restaurant on Franklin. It was weird having that much time to ourselves. Everyone did great with the sitter except Benjamin--he is kind of going through that stranger anxiety stage. Bummer, because he use to go to anyone.

After that we headed out to see some friends in the next town over. And then of course we headed to chik-Fil-a for dinner.

The summer has been a never ending party it seems. We have been to the pool, parks, and had several water fights. I am exhausted. Today Joshua was completely taken back that I told him I didn't enjoy going to the pool. I said I would rather sit home and sleep/read a book. I was trying to explain to him that sometimes we may not like what we have to do, but we do it anyway because it helps us grow.

Nothing new here, just having a blast in Tennessee!

Snack time at the pool.
Playing at the zoo's farm.
Made them smell the roses.
This guy loves to swing.
Summer isn't summer without dip and dots.
This boy loves to eat!
Cookies and the park! Keep in mind this is at 8am 30 min from our house. We are up early so we miss out on the heat of the day. I despise humidity and heat!!!

Visitors

Last week my brother received his MBA from IU. My parents flew into see him and stopped by to see us in TN. The boys counted down until grandma and grandpa finally arrived. They loved waking up sleepy uncle Jake and playing with grandma and grandpa.

I took them to see a few fun things in TN and then we headed up to see Joe's big graduation.

It was the first family vacation as a family of five. I forgot to bring the iPad and iPhones for them to play with because I thought they would be fine. They did okay but we always suffer when we get off schedule. It was worth it to see uncle Joe graduate though! Matt and I love road trips.

My two brothers are the best! Just missing BFG.
Samuel loves women. He loves pretty women. Hence why he would not leave Michelle alone.
Me trying so hard to pacify my children during a long commencement.

Cuties!

Papa is the best!
Had give them a taste of Pie Sensations.

Can't believe Papa jumped with them!

End of a Season

Today was Joshua's last soccer game. He played so well and is finally getting into the sport. I was trying to motivate him to score and be aggressive so I promised him $2 for every goal he made. The game before this he made one goal. We were so excited. Today he made 4.

We need to lower our price now.

Samuel had a giant meltdown because he was not able to play today again. He keeps saying," Sammy soccer...please...Sammy soccer."

And he was especially envious of Joshua's trophy.

The end of a great season with a great coach.

I love TN.
