Visitors & Baths

With my grandmother. She is 92 and still going strong. I love showing him off to people! Although he was asleep most of the time we were there.

My hilarious grandpa! He suffered from a stroke years ago and can't talk but he is really 'with it' sometimes and when we came by he was SO EXCITED to see Joshua and me. He patted Joshua's head and just kept smiling.

First real bath with grandma.

So this picture sums it all up...he is totally worth all the pain and suffering. He is just adorable!

Two Week Check-Up

This was his take home outfit from the hospital. He was so small that nothing I brought really fit him. It was brought to you by all the girls from the MSS office. The coat is still way too big but it's so cute, I love it!

Right before I loaded him into the car to go to his doctor appointment. He gained 10 oz and grew 2 inches! My baby was already huge and he just keeps getting bigger. I've noticed though that he is now looking more like Matt every day and less like me. He is changing so much I can't believe it. He already can almost hold his head up by himself. He is so strong! It snowed that day and I felt so bad for him because his first excursion outside was braving Utah weather. It was the first time I have also been out since leaving for the hospital. It felt nice but I was so worn out by the end of the appointment.

Daddy and Joshua fell asleeep while mommy went and ate something. My two boys just sleeping away. I love these guys so much!

Little Joshua

So this is my pride and joy. I just wanted to let some of you know how this all played out. Wednesday morning we noticed that something wasn't right so we went to the hospital to see if I was going into labor. Turns out I 'might' be but since I wasn't dilated enough they could not keep me. The next night during Grey's Anatomy my contractions started to be closer together and more painful. We worried now that I was going into labor and jumped into the car. Unfortunately we received the same answer...not dilated enough so we can't keep you. I asked them how am I going to sleep through these contractions? They said they would give me something for the pain but it didn't even take the edge off. Matt spent the whole night listening to me sing, "I am a child of God" and squeezing his hand until he woke him up. Then I would fall right back asleep until the next contraction. I had a doctor's appointment the next day and was now officially one day late. The doctor examined me and said I'm dilated more and everything looks like labor. Check into the hospital in an hour if you still have contractions.
There I was finally admitted because I was dilated to a 5. That was finally the lucky number. However, my contractions never got closer together and I ended up waiting for them to get closer until about 1:30am. The nurse asked if there was any question on my due date...of course there was...three different doctors opinions and my own bodies clock. Turns out the baby was a little "over-done" and his skin was really dry. The doctor explained it like this, "it is like sitting in a hot tub too long, which is why his skin is dry." At 2:00am they wheeled me into an operating room and preceded to do the c-section. Keep in mind that I'm running on no sleep and to be honest... a little scared.
Matt stood by and held my hand and just talked to me. It was so comforting! The baby finally came at 2:37am and I got to see him before they took and washed him. He was so cute and it still hadn't sunk in that he was mine.
Now it definitely feels like he is mine and I think he is the most beautiful child I have ever seen. I'm so happy he is healthy and strong. I'm now recovering from the surgery just fine and enjoying being with my little one!
